The Old Town Hall
The precious complex of historical buildings served as the seat of the Bratislava city government for centuries. The museum was established in 1868 and covers the history of the city and has several branches located in other historic buildings around the Old Town. There is an excellent view of the Old Town from the town hall tower.

Bratislava Castle
The most important site of Bratislava, which appears on the Slovak Euro coin, is partially accessible. The Castle compound and the observation desk are open for visitors. Do not miss an opportunity to observe the city and the right bank of the Danube with nearby Austria from here.
The Slovak National Museum
The major building of the Museum is an impressive neo-Classical building built after designs of a leading Slovak architect Milan Michal Harminc in the mid 1920s. The major exhibition in the building is the presentation of the Museum of Natural History. In addition, there are many special exhibitions organized here.

Apponyi Palace
This is the newest exhibition venue of the Bratislava City Museum, in the painstakingly restored Baroque palace. There are two exhibitions located here: the Exhibition of Historical Interiors featuring many beautifully restored furniture pieces presenting the living culture of the 18th and 19th centuries. The other exhibition is the Museum of Viticulture presenting the rich tradition of winemaking in Bratislava. The highlight of the exhibition is the Palugyay and Hubert memorial hall commemorating two most import important wine-producers in the city, and the modern architectural remake of an old wine cellar.

St. Michael's Tower
The tower is the only preserved historical entrance gate to Bratislava. Beside the panorama view of the Old Town from the gallery atop the building, the museum presents a collection of historical weapons.

Museum of Historic Clocks
The narrow Good Shepherd House from the 18th century is one of only two extant buildings of the former Jewish district of Bratislava. The Museum, which is a branch of the Bratislava City Museums, presents a unique collection of historical clock.

Jan Nepomuk Hummel Memorial House
A real ?temple? for music lovers is located in a charming old house hidden in a quite inner courtyard and thus protected from the noisy atmosphere of the capitol. The memorial house commemorates one of the most important composers of the late 18th and early 19th century, who was born in Bratislava.

Archeological Museum
The Museum that covers various prehistoric periods of the Slovak territory and presents the most important archaeological findings is located in a Baroque mansion, one of the few extant buildings of the former Vydrica district razed during the 1960s.

Jewish Community Museum
The museum is located in the only presenved synagogue of Bratislava built in 1923-1926. It presents the unique collection of precious Judaica and other memorial objects called The Jews of Bratislava and Their Heritage.

Museum of Hungarian Culture in Slovakia

Museum of the Carpathian Germans Culture
Literally next door to the Hungarian collection, this museum covers the cultural tradition of the Germans that settled in Slovakia in the middle ages and the overwhelming majority of them were forcibly transferred from the country after World War II as a result of the 20th century most tragic event.

Transportation Museum
This is a must to visit for all lovers of vintage vehicles. Here you can see a unique collection of old cars and a precious exhibition on history of railways in Slovakia including several old locomotives parked on the railroad adjacent to the museum. Actually, the Museum is located next to the old railway station building, from where the trains commuted to Vienna and Budapest in the 19th century.

Museum of Croatian Culture in Slovakia
The Croats settled on the Slovak territory several centuries ago, when they fled from the Turks that invaded southern Europe. This specialized branch of the Slovak National Museum is located in a charming village of Devinska Nova Ves ? a part of the Bratislava municipal area, where until now, old people speak Croatian.

Devin Castle

Roman Excavations of Gerulata
This interesting exhibition is located on the actual site of the former Roman castel called Gerulata that was excavated in the charming village of Rusovce, today part of the Bratislava municipal area. The compound spreads behind the medieval parish church and aside to conserved walls you will find an interesting display of excavated objects.
